An opportunity has arisen for a qualified group analyst to join our team in the Regional Department of Psychotherapy in the Centre for Specialist Psychological Therapies.
In the Regional Department of Psychotherapy, group analysts, psychoanalytic psychotherapists and psychodynamic psychotherapists work together to provide specialist assessments, group analysis individual and group psychoanalytic psychotherapy, consultation, reflective practice, education and supervision.
The Regional Department of Psychotherapy has been established for over 25 years, and is now combined with the Sunderland Psychotherapy Service, the Newcastle CBT Centre, the CAT service and the Family Therapy service to form the Centre for Specialist Psychological Therapies. The Centre allows further opportunities for clinical collaboration, teaching and research.
We are part of Cumbria Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust, a large mental health and disabilities trust which was awarded an outstanding rating by CQC in 2018.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder is responsible for providing a qualified specialist psychological therapy service to adult clients in a designated locality, providing specialist model-specific psychological assessment and therapy, in addition to clinical supervision, advice and consultation to colleagues, and to other non-professional carers, on psychological aspects of assessment, formulation, care and treatment.
The post holder will work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring that high quality individualised care is delivered which ensures safety and a commitment to promoting recovery and wellbeing and maximising independence.
The post-holder will provide clinical supervision and clinical consultation / advice in accordance with service needs.
The post-holder will take a lead role within the team for model-specific psychological therapies in the pathway, including responsibility for checking adherence to NICE guidance through clinical supervision and monitoring.
The post-holder will provide compassionate care that is based on empathy,kindness, respect and dignity.
The post-holder will contribute to training on a multi-disciplinary basis.
The post-holder will contribute to audit, policy and service development within the remit of the post.
The post-holder will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the service's policies and procedures.
