Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Single Point of Access (SPA) of an innovative Children and Young Peoples' Service in Northumberland.
CYPS provide specialist assessment and interventions for children and young people with mental health problems, a learning disability and neurodevelopmental concerns.
The multi-disciplinary team comprises a highly skilled and experienced workforce of Consultant Psychiatrists, Nurses, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Psychotherapists, Social Workers, Art Therapists and Support Workers.
We deliver a range of specialist services that contribute to children's emotional well-being and mental health, including specific neurodevelopmental assessments and appropriate interventions. Using the Thrive graduated model we offer support within the 'getting more help' section.
We provide a service to all children and young people aged 0-18 years who have persistent, moderate to severe symptoms and/or highly complex emotional distress that has not responded to targeted interventions.
The role will include delivering face to face, telephone and online consultations with young people, families and professionals, offering assessment.
Multi-agency working is key within this role to ensure young people receive the appropriate support and intervention to meet their needs, at the right time.
Main duties of the job
As a clinician in SPA you will be responsible for processing all referrals into the service. This will include reviewing written referrals, conducting consultations with referrers and carry out Initial assessments to deem the appropriateness of treatment within Northumberland CYPS. In addition to working on referrals, you will be expected to cover duty on occasion.
There is a lot of collaboration with other services as Northumberland CYPS aims to operate a 'no closed door' service, meaning that each referral, if not appropriate for CYPS, is supported to access support from our partners.
About us
We aim to attract and retain a diverse, talented and committed workforce, who are caring and compassionate, and therefore able to meet the demands of the modern NHS now and in the future. In return we can offer a dynamic working environment in which to build a career.
