Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist. The post will sit within North Community CBU. We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Occupational Therapist with an interest in clinical and professional leadership to work into our Adult Community Teams in Northumberland and North Tyneside.

This is an exciting opportunity to further develop the Occupational Therapy Service across the pathways, to embed innovative and creative evidence-based practice that will provide safe effective, high quality care for our service users and their families

We require a highly motivated, skilled Occupational Therapist with the ability to work autonomously but also be part of a leadership team, and with a commitment to their own personal and professional development.

The post holder will be expected to demonstrate a good working knowledge of theories, models and approaches relevant to this clinical setting, as well as a good understanding of a range of clinical conditions related toadult mental health.

You will provide an Occupational Therapy perspective to the multi-disciplinary team.

The successful candidate will provide professional supervision and development to the Occupational therapy staff. You will also be expected to work as part of a wider leadership team and support service development across the pathways.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for providing and coordinating a comprehensive Occupational Therapy service to service users who have a variety of complex occupational therapy needs, diverse presentations and a range of mental health conditions, neurological conditions, physical health conditions, cognitive and/or learning disabilities.The post holder will work within multidisciplinary teams ensuring that high quality, individualised care is delivered which ensures safety, promotes and maximises independence.To deliver highly specialist evidence based Occupational Therapy interventions within the pathway.To provide specialist advice to Occupational Therapy and other professionals within and outside the Trust with regard to specialist area.Demonstrate strong leadership and provide clinical supervision to Occupational Therapy staff within the pathway, ensuring robust clinical supervision structures are in place.To provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.

Provide assurance to AHP Associate Director regarding adherence to professional standards for those staff for whom he/she is professionally responsible.
