Job summary
Are you an enthusiastic, creative and compassionate aspiring assistant psychologist who would like to gain experience working with adults with learning disabilities and those who support them in the community?
As a psychology department, we work alongside our MDT colleagues and partnership agencies to support the psychological wellbeing of service users and their families/carers who live in Newcastle. We provide psychological consultation, specialist assessments and a range of both direct and indirect psychological interventions. We regularly provide teaching and training in psychological ways of working and there will be opportunities to gain experience in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical work, supporting our small team of qualified clinical psychologists.
Main duties of the job
We are a busy, friendly multi-disciplinary team who provide high quality assessment, formulation and intervention to adults with learning disabilities who are experiencing significant challenges in relation to their mental and physical health needs.
As a team we value clinicians who are creative, flexible, curious and genuine. We are thoughtful about the wellbeing of our colleagues and keen to make this a collaborative development opportunity for a budding clinical psychologist who wishes to gain a solid foundation in a community learning disability setting.
About us
We aim to attract and retain a diverse, talented and committed workforce, who are caring and compassionate, and therefore able to meet the demands of the modern NHS now and in the future. In return we can offer a dynamic working environment in which to build a career.
