Job summary
It's an exciting time to join us here at Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (CNTW) as we continue to develop and invest in our services as well as our staff.
We are looking for caring, empathetic, enthusiastic and motivated individuals who have a passion to improve the lives of our patients. We have new opportunities for Registered Nurses and Doctors Trustwide across all of our inpatient services.
As a CNTW employee we will support you in your personal and career development. You'll have access to a great range of training opportunities through our in-house Academy including Coaching, Apprenticeships, and our Leadership Development Programme.
We are committed to improving the working lives and health and wellbeing of our staff and that's why we have our Thrive programme. Thrive is here to support your whole wellbeing which covers emotional, physical, psychological, financial, career and social aspects.
Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen, due to the expansion of the Northern Region Gender Dysphoria Service, to appoint a non-medical prescriber (NMP) to work within the adult gender dysphoria pathways. We actively support applicants to these posts who identify as LGBTQ+ and/or have lived experience of neurodivergence.
This post is available to applicants who are already qualified as a non-medical prescriber.
We recognise that applicants may not have experience of working directly in the gender dysphoria pathway.
We are seeking reflective, dynamic and autonomous individuals who are excellent team members. You will be expected to demonstrate excellent clinical skills and experience working with people with complex needs. You must have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of assessment and treatment of adults in your field, and be ready and able to learn about gender dysphoria and neurodiversity. Some of the community who we serve have mental health difficulties and other complex physical health needs.
This is a complex ever evolving field in which to work and applicants must be able to appreciate, think flexibly about and debate abstract concepts, such as gender identity, sexuality, law, language and societal influences.
As a qualified NMP you will assess gender dysphoria, offer medication reviews and support service users over the course of their time on the gender dysphoria pathway.
About us
We aim to attract and retain a diverse, talented and committed workforce, who are caring and compassionate, and therefore able to meet the demands of the modern NHS now and in the future. In return we can offer a dynamic working environment in which to build a career.
