Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly competent and motivated Medical Staffing Manager to help us develop our Medical Staffing service. You will be an experienced Line Manager with experience of working in a Medical Staffing function and providing sound advice, support and guidance on Medical Terms and Conditions.

The post holder will undertake the role of operational lead for our Medical Staffing service. This is a varied remit that will oversee the delivery of a high quality, customer focused, operational service to our medical workforce.

This is a rotational post and the post holder will rotate between the three workstreams of Medical Staffing, Medical Recruitment and Medical Development every 12 months.

Main duties of the job

You will:

  • provide day to day advice and guidance regarding Medical Terms and Conditions of Service.
  • work with the Head and Deputy Head of Medical Staffing, Recruitment, Education and Developments to be professionally accountable for ensuring the Trust meets its KPIs and NHS requirements in relation to medical staffing issues
  • be responsible for organising and prioritising Medical Recruitment work, including international recruitment.
  • ensure technology is utilised to its fullest throughout the recruitment process, guaranteeing an efficient and effective recruitment experience is provided to applicants and stakeholders.
  • establish robust relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and be able to drive forward the visions of a centre of excellence.
  • oversee the development and delivery of the medical CPD programme, working with the Deputy Head of Medical Staffing and Developments and the Deputy Medical Director.
  • be responsible for the coordination of CPD projects including Medical Leadership, mentoring, coaching and other training as required.
  • provide cross cover management for other areas in medical staffing, development and recruitment.

About us

The post holder will work closely with the other team leaders in MEDW to ensure improvements and innovation are continually considered in order to improve the quality and performance of the team.

Suitable applicants must have previous medical staffing and line management experience, business and customer facing experience, excellent customer service and communication skills along with the ability to work as part of team, in a pressurised environment. The post holder will be able to manage their own workload whilst managing conflicting demands and regular interruptions and have impeccable attention to detail. A flexible approach to work and excellent organisational skills are also essential.
