Qualifications

Essential

• 1 st level registered nurse
• Educated to degree level or equivalent
• Teaching qualification
• Highly advanced communication skills training/qualification from a recognised body
• Post-registration qualification in palliative care
• Evidence of recent study at Masters/post graduate/Highly specialist level in relevant area

Desirable

• Non-medical prescribing independent prescriber course V300
• Community nurse prescriber V100 or V150

• Highly developed specialist knowledge in the relevant field
• Demonstrable advanced clinical skills within specialist area, including physical assessment skills and basic life support
• Demonstrate ability to obtain and evaluate information to aid decision making and to develop others in this area
• Knowledge of clinical governance and its application

• Demonstrate people management skills including: Motivation of staff and team building, Negotiation, Decision Making, Leadership, Staff development, Conflict and problem solving

• Post-basic qualification experience, of which some must include in-depth experience in relevant field
