Job summary
The Critical Care, Anaesthetics and Theatres Collaborative have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Deputy Service Manager to help implement the Elective Care Hub based at West Cumberland Hospital. The individual will provide a key operational role to support the senior team to drive service improvements and work towards GIRFT accreditation in September 2025.
Main duties of the job
- Assist the General Manager and Service Manager with the operational management of the Elective Care Hub.
- Hold delegated responsibility for key areas of service delivery, for example, operational and performance management in relation to constitutional standard waiting times and achieving financial balance.
- Actively support the achievement of objectives within both corporate and Collaborative agenda.
- Participate in any shift system which is associated with this role outside of normal working hours, in order to fulfil the requirements of the base service and also the wider Trust. These arrangements may vary from time to time depending upon Trust requirements in the best interests in service delivery.
- At times Portfolios will change depending upon Trust requirements in the best interests in service delivery
- The post holder may be expected to work across multiple sites
across the trust
- Provide operational management for the whole Trust if required
- Deputise for the Service Manager as designated
- Responsibility is held for the effective management of staff in HR issues, including recruitment, appraisal, grievance, disciplinary and sickness absence.
- Support delivery of the maintenance and successful achievement of local and national performance management targets.
- Ensure that ward/departments maintain the highest standards and performance requirements under corporate and clinical governance procedures.
- Support improvement / developments of service.
