Disclosure and Barring Service:

On 28 November 2020, the new Disclosure and Barring Service filtering rules will come into effect.

The changes mean that:

• youth cautions, reprimands and final warnings will no longer be subject to automatic disclosure
• the multiple conviction rule has been removed, meaning that if an individual has more than one conviction, regardless of offence type or time passed, each conviction will be considered against the remaining rules individually, rather than being automatically disclosed.

Standard DBS check £21.50, Enhanced DBS check £49.50 + any admin costs.

Qualifications

Essential

• oMSc in Clinical Physiology (or equivalent experience at this level).
• oFurther qualification or equivalent experience to postgraduate diploma or equivalent.
• oARTP part 1 and 2.
• oEvidence of ongoing CPD.

Desirable

• oILS or equivalent
• oLeadership/ Management related qualification.
• oMentorship Qualification

Knowledge and experience

Essential

• oPost qualification experience of performing and reporting specialist lung function testing in a range of settings to inform decision making regarding subsequent treatment options
• oExperience setting up and scoring 3 channel home sleep studies
• oExperience in counselling patients on starting Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) therapy including DVLA regulations
• oExperience in interpreting polysomnography.
• oAbility to make clinical decisions safely
• oStaff management
• oExperience of delivering service change.
• oExperience of teaching and training physiologist to associate and practitioner level

Desirable

• oExperience in performing and interpreting Cardio Pulmonary Exercise testing (CPEX).
