Job summary
NCIC are seeking a Neurophysiology Technician to work within the developing Neurophysiology department and support the delivery of EEG and NCS clinics in a number of outpatient and inpatient settings across Cumbria.

Main duties of the job
- Performs a range of basic and highly specialised neurophysiological investigations on patients of all ages from a range of specialities suffering from a wide variety of medical disorders including those, which may be neurological and/or psychiatric in nature.
- Receive and analyse highly specialised clinical information (request forms, medical data) to plan, prepare and produce factual technical interpretation and data analysis of investigations preformed. This may be in written, oral and electronic formats. All data is confidential.
- Plan, perform without supervision and interpret a range of basic and highly specialised neurophysiological investigations to a high level of competence to patients
- Perform EEG investigations using highly specialised techniques
- Perform Nerve Conduction Studies for Carpal Tunnel syndrome.
- Assist with EMG (Electromyography) examinations, NCS (Nerve Conduction Studies) in the Neurophysiology Department.
- Perform all modality evoked potentials taking appropriate action where necessary.
- Provide technical reports on a range of Neurophysiological investigations and collaborate with the Clinical Neurophysiologist to produce an accurate clinical report, which contributes to the clinical assessment and management of the patient.
