Disclosure and Barring Service:

On 28 November 2020, the new Disclosure and Barring Service filtering rules will come into effect.

The changes mean that:

• youth cautions, reprimands and final warnings will no longer be subject to automatic disclosure
• the multiple conviction rule has been removed, meaning that if an individual has more than one conviction, regardless of offence type or time passed, each conviction will be considered against the remaining rules individually, rather than being automatically disclosed.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

• Professional registration either: Registered Health Care Professional or Registered Nurse
• ILS/PILS provider certificate
• To have a degree or equivalent experience

Desirable

• RCUK European Advanced Paediatric Life Support Instructor (EPALS) or APLS Instructor
• RCUK Advanced Life Support Instructor.(ALS)
• Intravascular Access Trained (Interosseous)

Knowledge

Essential

• Evidence and experience of teaching in present role
• Significant post registration clinical experience supporting job description
• Knowledge of current Resuscitation Council (UK) Guidelines
• Evidence of continued professional development

Desirable

• Experience of simulation training and feedback enquiries.
• Previous Resuscitation Officer experience.

Skills

Essential

• Able to act as a clinical expert for resuscitation and the deteriorating patient
• Able to teach and motivate staff at all levels
• Be an effective communicator at all levels
• IT literate including skills in MS Office and Outlook
• Be self-motivated, enthusiastic and professional to work effectively as a team player

Desirable

• Able to teach and motivate staff at all levels.
• Have knowledge of visions and values of the organisations
• Experience in investigating concerns and performance management
