Research Nurse/Practitioner B6 - 22.5 hours available - CIC
This is a 1 year fixed term post
Applications are sought from highly motivated individuals to work in a newly developed research post in collaboration with Cumberland County Council. The aim of the post is to develop a portfolio of research into non-NHS settings for example schools, social services and other areas of public health. The post holder will work closely with both North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS FT and Cumberland County Council to develop and maintain research infrastructure in these settings, to support, promote and organise participant recruitment, education and monitoring of research participants, and the collection and documentation of accurate data. They will also be required to provide research support and information for research staff, participants, volunteers and relatives as appropriate.
As part of this role, Cumberland Council Health Determinant Research Collaboration will provide research coaching, research training, reach into Council directorates, connection with academics at partner higher education institutes and an honorary contract with the University of Cumbria providing access to journal databases
This post involves direct contact with research participants and does not involve laboratory activities. We are looking for a highly motivated person with interest in hands-on health research, and with relevant post registration/graduate employment.
Main duties of the job
- This post is a joint post with Cumberland County Council. The post holder will have a remit to open and work on research projects which fall under services hosted by the council.
- The post holder will be expected to be able to work on NIHR portfolio and other research studies with minimal support and training.
Day to day activities will include;
- assisting in the recruitment, education and monitoring of research participants and the collection and documentation of accurate data
- working closely with the principle investigators of local portfolio studies, Cumberland Council Health Determinant Research Collaboration and the NCIC research team and R&D Manager in developing and maintaining the research infrastructure to support, promote and organise patient recruitment
- providing research support and information for staff, patients, volunteers and relatives as appropriate.
The role is able to meet the requirements for registration with professional bodies for nurses, midwives and allied health professionals.
