Disclosure and Barring Service:

On 28 November 2020, the new Disclosure and Barring Service filtering rules will come into effect.

The changes mean that:

• youth cautions, reprimands and final warnings will no longer be subject to automatic disclosure
• the multiple conviction rule has been removed, meaning that if an individual has more than one conviction, regardless of offence type or time passed, each conviction will be considered against the remaining rules individually, rather than being automatically disclosed.

Standard DBS check £21.50, Enhanced DBS check £49.50 + any admin costs.

Person Specification

Knowledge

Essential

• Continuing professional development with portfolio.
• Relevant academic study and clinical placement.
• Equality issues.

Qualifications

Essential

• BSc in Audiology or equivalent.
• AHCS registration or registration in process

Experience

Essential

• Experience in adult hearing assessments and digital hearing aid fittings using real ear measurements
• Recent relevant clinical placements.

Desirable

• Experience in older children's hearing assessments and digital hearing aid fittings for glue ear.

Skills and Aptitudes

Essential

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• IT skills.
• Fine manual dexterity.
• Ability to formulate appropriate patient management plans based on good case history information.
• Ability to work effectively without direct supervision.
• Able to prioritise work to meet deadlines. Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable

• Use of Audit base patient management systems.

Other requirements

Essential

• Able to travel independently to outreach clinics.
• Flexible to service needs.

Desirable

• Driving licence.
