Specialist Physiotherapist - neurological outpatients
We are for an experienced and enthusiastic band 6 Physiotherapist to join our Neuro outpatient team at NICIC. The post is for 22.5 hours per week. Based at Workington community hospital.
We are truly caring and dynamic team , who provideshighly specialist assessment and rehabilitation for patients with a wide range of long and short-term neurological conditions. We aim to maximise function and improving quality of life. We work alongside other health MDTs, the social and voluntary sector.
You will have an interesting and wide ranging caseload of neurological conditions including MS, MND , FND & Stroke. Working alongside highly specialist physiotherapists you will have opportunity to consolidate and further develop your neurological skills
(5-6 development may be considered)
Main duties of the job
- To work autonomously with an increasingly complex caseload undertaking assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and providing appropriate advice to patients, carers and relatives regarding neurological rehabilitation in a variety of settings i.e. in-patient, outpatient, patient's home, other community locations.
- To work as an experienced specialist physiotherapist within the wider neuro team delivering a service to patients
- To consolidate and build upon postgraduate experience, clinical skills and knowledge through CPD, IST programmes, informal training and specialist post graduate courses.
- To maintain effective communication links with patients, carers and all associated relevant practitioners
- To provide education and training to Band 5 physiotherapists, physiotherapy assistants, physiotherapy students, work experience students and other healthcare professionals as required.
- To participate in audit and research activities as appropriate.
- To work independently knowing own limitations and seeking guidance according.
- To complete comprehensive accurate and legally compliant clinical records.
