Disclosure and Barring Service:

On 28 November 2020, the new Disclosure and Barring Service filtering rules will come into effect.

The changes mean that:

• youth cautions, reprimands and final warnings will no longer be subject to automatic disclosure
• the multiple conviction rule has been removed, meaning that if an individual has more than one conviction, regardless of offence type or time passed, each conviction will be considered against the remaining rules individually, rather than being automatically disclosed.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

• NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Services Skills (Competence) or equivalent.
• BTEC pharmacy services underpinning knowledge National Certificate or recognised equivalents
• Must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council

Desirable

• A1 assessors award
• Accredited training in the use of Microsoft applications e.g. Word, Excel and Outlook

Experience

Essential

• Experience of a range of technical pharmaceutical duties during training

Desirable

• Knwledge of Individual patient dispensing systems
• Experience of working in an aseptic services/sterile manufacturing unit within a hospital environment.
• Top-up procedures.

Knowledge

Essential

• In-house distribution checking pack, or equivalent.
• In-house ward services training pack or equivalent.

Desirable

• Aseptic Services training pack or equivalent.

Skills & Aptitudes

• Good technical skills across a full range of duties
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
