Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly enthusiastic hardworking individual to join a successful team with a long standing reputation for delivering a high standard service to local GP practices and Integrated Care Boards (ICBs).
The role of the Primary Care Information Support Officer is to co-ordinate and undertake regular data extractions and reporting in line with requirements and timescales, contributing to the delivery of the established GP data provision service delivered by the Cumbria PRIMIS Informatics team.
Main duties of the job
Main duties will include: running searches/reports on EMIS to extract data from GP practices; manipulating and analysing data for various requirements; understanding and identifying associated data quality issues; presenting information in a clear and appropriate reporting format; plus data input into national reporting systems where necessary. The post holder will also provide a general administrative support function for the PRIMIS Informatics team.
Applications are invited from highly enthusiastic and motivated candidates with excellent interpersonal and effective communication skills. Excellent computer skills in a range of standard applications (i.e. Microsoft Office) are essential, as is the aptitude to learn new systems and software. The successful candidate will have excellent Excel skills to enable the effective manipulation and presentation of complex data. An excellent attention to detail is also essential, as quality and accuracy are essential in this role. Applicants should be well organised and be able to demonstrate their ability to manage workload in a time efficient manner. The ability to work both independently and part of a team is essential. Knowledge of Health Informatics within the NHS, Primary Care and the GP EMIS clinical system would be an advantage, but are not essential.
