Head and Neck Clinical Nurse Specialist with a focus on Thyroid

Can be band 6 or 7 depending on experience. Secondment would be considered

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Head and Neck Service for a Clinical Nurse Specialist with a special interest in Thyroid. This role will involve autonomously reviewing patients in clinics and supporting patients through investigations, diagnosis of a thyroid cancer and Head & Neck cancer diagnosis and through ongoing treatment and follow up, working within guidelines set by the North of England Cancer Network, specialist multi-disciplinary teams and local teams.

Main duties of the job

  • Providing face to face support for patients at cancer diagnosis
  • Providing support to patients between diagnosis and treatment
  • Supporting patients post surgery
  • Liaising with Newcastle CNS's
  • Reviewing patients in clinic
  • Completing Holistic needs assessments
