Job summary

We are looking for a highly skilled digital and design communications specialist to join our team to provide support for website development

This is a unique opportunity to work in key role at an exciting time as the sexual health service is undergoing recommissioning of the whole service. Website development and the digital offer is a key aspect of this contract negotiation, the first phase of which will be going live later this year. The post holder will be required to assist with the technical and functional aspects of the development of the new public website that will also include a professionals page. The role will lead on the development of our social media channels and will ensure the team have the tools to deliver contemporary and interactive communications mechanisms.

Reporting to the service manager, the successful postholder will be able to apply well developed skills in areas such as programming, social media tool development, visual design, electronic design tools, design of display materials etc.

The role requires excellent interpersonal and technical skills with the ability to learn quickly and prioritise a large workload.

The post is based in Carlisle but with the flexibility to travel and work across the County where appropriate. The post holder will be required to have previous experience in digital communications.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of this role is to deliver a public facing, stand alone website for the sexual health service that is appropriate for the patient group. It will also need to be future proofed as much as possible and a plan for maintenance developed.

The overall digital offer within the service will need to be modernised in line with the website development to ensure that the service is able to utilise digital options wherever appropriate thus releasing capacity in the service to develop and meet the growing and complex needs of the patients.
