Job summary

The post holder will have a track record of outstanding learning, development and improvement experience in achieving measurable and positive change in an NHS Trust setting.

The purpose of the role is to lead on the Trust's care improvement, learning and development programmes, including:

  1. The development of unified learning, development and improvement functions which support the Trust's journey of improvement for the people of North Cumbria.
  2. The creation and leadership of a Learning and Improvement model to provide directed support and interventions across priority areas.

To facilitate change in the organisational culture through compassionate leadership, education and team development support.

Main duties of the job

  • Responsible for provide senior leadership to the Learning & Development Team and Improvement Team.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the Trust's Leading & Improving Together programme (LIfT).
  • Working collaboratively with teams and colleagues, work towards the establishment of a single virtual home for the Trust's Improvement Safety Innovation Research Education functions (InSpIRE Cumbria).
  • Track leadership and organisational development interventions internally and externally.
  • Build the Trust's improvement capacity to support teams and colleagues to innovate for quality and productivity
  • Facilitate change in the organisational culture through the creation and management of leadership development interventions and programmes that support compassionate leadership, education and team development support
  • Provide strategic leadership on initiatives in the education and training of staff which facilitate the best skill set for clinical requirements across each of the clinical collaboratives.
  • Work closely across corporate and clinical services to empower change agents across NCIC
  • Create the conditions for success and continuous improvement through the provision of skills, training, tools and resources to ensure services are equipped and have capacity to shape and develop their colleagues and services
  • Lead the regular sharing of learning through coordinating /hosting events
