Job summary

INTERNAL ONLY TO NORTH CUMBRIA INTEGRATED CARE NHS FOUNDATION TRUST (NCIC) EMPLOYEES ONLY

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, efficient and motivated individual to manage and lead our Temporary Workforce Teams (Bank and Agency). This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that has been nationally recognised and has been responsible for delivering savings to the Trust directly linked to the management of agency staffing, and also shared working agreements with other public sector organisations.

The post holder may be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service including occasional evenings and weekends to attend events.

Main duties of the job

To develop and deliver a consistent, cost effective and efficient temporary staffing service which is fully compliant with national and local policy requirements, NHSE best practice and professional standards. To support the delivery of high quality care for patients, aligned to workforce demands and safe staffing requirements.

Be responsible for ensuring appropriate staffing establishment is in place, monitoring performance of bank and agency fill, reducing agency activity and spend and highlighting any areas of risk. Following up on risks through formation of action plans to deliver recommendations around efficiencies. Be involved in long term planning including annual business planning.

To support the Head of Workforce Services and Assistant Director of People Services in further development of a Trust Bank and contributing to a 'system' solutions and opportunities for cross sharing of staff at an ICB level.

Escalation point for temporary staffing day to day delivery (clinical/non-clinical) including recommendations around efficiencies, holistic view of each staff group to ensure maximum efficiencies are being made and acted upon.

Work collaboratively as part of the People Services Management Team. To link closely with the Recruitment Manager to contribute reduced vacancy numbers and effective safe removal of agency workers, and utilisation of bank resource.
