IT Support Engineer x 2 Full-Time 37.5 hour posts available.

IT Support Engineers work in a team with IT Support Technicians and IT Support Officers to support both the Trusts and supported organisations ICT end user devices on behalf of Digital Healthcare.

Primary responsibilities include ensuring maximum availability of end user devices, ensure they operate at peak performance by optimising device configuration, contributing towards the creation and management of Windows builds, and the deployment and upgrading of operating systems, firmware and software (including patching to address security vulnerabilities).

The post holder is responsible for collaborating with other teams within Digital Healthcare to undertake effective Problem Management to ensure appropriate solutions or acceptable workarounds are identified and implemented. They will also support the delivery and implementation of new systems.

Main duties of the job

  • Analysing, investigating and resolving highly complex Incidents and Problems relating to end user devices, working with other teams, suppliers and 3rd parties as required.
  • Provide support, advice, guidance and training for the IT Support Technicians and IT Support Officers to ensure tasks are undertaken to expected quality standards.
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures and provide assurances to the IT Delivery Managers and IT Support Manager that they are being followed accurately.
  • Lead on and design, configuration, implementation and management of new and existing solutions which involve end user devices.
  • Support the Cyber Security Team to ensure security compliance by providing appropriate recommendations with respect to end user devices.
  • Lead on the research into new technologies relevant to the area of responsibility.

The post holder is required to have recent significant in-depth knowledge of IT hardware and software used in the Trust along with excellent troubleshooting skills of complex IT issues.
