Registered Nurse - Occupational Health & Wellbeing

The Occupational Health & Wellbeing Service has a core Occupational Health team of Advisors, Nurses, HCAs and an OH Physician. The team are responsible for supporting the health and wellbeing of staff from commencement in post through to their retirement, advising staff and managers on fitness to work, reasonable adjustments, risk assessments, vaccination uptake and promoting wellbeing in the workplace.

The Occupational Health Service works closely with wellbeing and psychology colleagues to offer therapy, mindfulness, group/team support, counselling and training. The Service also have a dedicated fast track pathway into the MSK physiotherapy and other services in the Trust to support staff to get the care they need as quickly as possible.

The successful applicant will be responsible for and involved in pre-employment / pre-placement health screening, immunisations, sharps injury follow up and contamination incidents, delivering mass vaccination programmes, undertaking health surveillance such as skin checks and participating in outbreak investigations and meetings.

The department is open Monday- Friday 08:30 16:30 although you will need to have some flexibility around hours from time to time. The OH Service has two main bases at the Cumberland Infirmary and West Cumberland Hospital, this post will be based at either one of these sites.

Main duties of the job

What we are looking for:

The successful applicant should be a registered nurse and post-registration clinical experience. Our ideal candidate will be someone with good communication skills and an interest/passion for staff health who wants to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Additional information:

This role will be based either Cumberland Infirmary or West Cumberland Hospital. Although the advertised post is 37.5 hours per week, we may be able to accommodate a range of part-time options and would also be willing to discuss flexibility re. the role according to experience and qualifications. Therefore, we would actively encourage applications from those who wish to work part-time.
