An exciting opportunity has arisen working within the Strategic Planning and Performance Directorate working as a Head of Planning for the next 12 months. The main responsibilities of the post will be to support the:
- Development of a strategic implementation plan to help support the implementation of the Trust's new five year strategy
- Review and implementation of the Trust's annual Operating Plan providing regular update reports on its delivery arrangements
- Coordination and development of emerging and required business case documents
- Evaluation of previously funded business cases to ensure that the Trust is receiving the expected benefits realisation and
- Development and roll out of the GIRFT Further faster proposals
Main duties of the job
The main purpose of the role is to improve the coordination and development of the proposed planning process, add momentum and pace to the Trust's planning and implementation functions by adding capacity for joined up working and development. Expertise in capital and business planning as well as strategic development and implementation as well as organisational leadership for transformation will be central to the role being successful and is essential for the role.
You will be educated to Masters level or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Programme/Project Management or similar and have extensive specialist knowledge, expertise and experience, acquired through advanced professional training put into practical effect over a significant period of time, programme management, project management and performance management (including or with a good working knowledge of Managing Successful Programmes, PRINCE2 and Benefits Realisation).
You will also have senior management experience in a service or healthcare delivery organisation.
Experience of delivering highly complex performance and other reports and messages to a diverse range of people is essential, as well as having a proven track record of significant experience and successful outcomes at a senior level in managing and delivering business planning, strategy development and deployment, programme & project management.
