Job summary

Senior Information Analyst, Two x 37.5 hours per week (usually between 9am and 5pm).

The Information Management team specialises in the management and analysis of the Trust's healthcare data fulfilling both the statutory and contractual dataset and submission requirements; and providing an analytical service to support the Trust to access and utilise its health information.

The post holder will work as part of a team of analysts to support the Information Manager to fulfil this function, and to contribute to future developments and improvements - from improving internal processes within the team, devising new datasets to respond to national requirements, to engaging with service staff to assure data capture and operational processes meet the Trust's business needs. The future vision for the team is to develop into providing a service that supports the Trust to understand and achieve its activity, its performance and its potential.

The tasks undertaken by our Senior Analysts can be wide and varied; not always needing advanced technical skills but definitely requiring a logical approach and a keen interest in problem solving. We'd be particularly interested in applicants with experience of NHS data capture and data systems, and those with process mapping and/or business analysis skills or experience

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as part of a team of analysts to support the Information Manager to fulfil the statutory and contractual dataset and submission requirements; and provide an analytical service to support the Trust to access and utilise its health information.

The post holder will proactively identify areas of performance or data capture issues and collaborate with team colleagues, other support services and operational service staff to investigate and problem solve.

The post holder will utilise data from a wide variety of different sources in order to provide accurate, concise and timely information to the Trust to enable informed decisions to be made about the future direction of services. Advanced knowledge and use of Excel and previous experience of SQL Server would be desirable but support can be provided to those with intermediate skills and the appetite to learn more.

Our 5 key principles demonstrate our belief in the delivery of 'safe, high quality care every time'.

  • Being a clinically led organisation
  • Quality and safety at the heart
  • A positive patient experience every time
