This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist who has a passion for continuing professional development and education. This role is a fixed term/ secondment opportunity for 12 months, working as a Clinical Educator across the Occupational Therapy teams throughout North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. The post will be worked over 30 hours (4 days per week), with one day dedicated to a clinical role.

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust employs Occupational Therapists across many of our settings including both adult and children's services. The service is part of a strong Occupational Therapy network, with links between the teams at the Cumberland Infirmary and West Cumberland Hospital, as well as the wider health and social care settings across North Cumbria. This provides many professional development opportunities and there is a strong focus on CPD within the team.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. They must be able to deliver clinical education, working and teaching autonomously, delivering both in-person and virtual education, across all acute and community teams within NCIC.

The main duties of the job are:

Act as a clinical role model, working collaboratively to develop and deliver an ongoing programme of training and education for Occupational Therapy new recruits and developing support staff across the trust.

Be responsible for delivering a comprehensive orientation and induction programme for new recruits within the Occupational Therapy department.

Be a clinical expert within Occupational Therapy and provide "hands on" supervision of staff in clinical practice to promote the acquisition of new skills and knowledge.

Develop cohorts of practice for the developing bands across the system, AP trainees, apprentices and preceptees.

Contribute to the development of departmental policies, guidelines and scope of practice.

Undertake audits and reviews of practice and policies within the trust.

Work 80% in education and 20% clinical
