ESR and Payroll Manager (Fixed Term / Secondment)

Job summary
The post holder will oversee the delivery of a proficient operational Payroll/ESR service to HR Shared Service clients. This includes timely processing of the ESR Payroll Module weekly and monthly, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory, regulatory, and policy standards. They will address and resolve intricate queries and discrepancies, managing over and underpayments efficiently. Additionally, they will engage in effective communication with managers and staff across all levels, providing guidance on complex payroll/ESR matters.
Main duties of the job
Operational Responsibilities
o Delivering an effective and efficient ESR service to the HR Shared Services clients, complying with all relevant statutory regulations and Trust policies, in order to ensure that accurate and timely staff payments are processed and the ESR database remains up to date and reliable.
o Checking reports and analysis and taking appropriate action.
o Responsible for the monitoring of the teams KPI's in accordance with service specifications including response times to pay queries, correspondence, and payroll deadlines.
o Responsible for the management of under/over-payments in accordance with the client's processes and procedures.
o Responsible for ensuring that all changes to legislation and terms and conditions are auctioned in a timely manner.
Education, Development and Improvement Responsibilities
o To fully utilise Information Technology in the application of ESR and the production of the payroll including the ability to fully exploit the use of excel spreadsheets.
o Maintain 'Super user' status for the ESR system including the ability to fully utilise the ESR system and interfacing systems.
o To review and reflect on own work performance and identify development needs through the use of appraisal and personal development plans.
