Job summary

If you are a dynamic and creative Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist who is looking to develop professionally, and who has a passion for working with children, young people and families in community CAMHS in innovative ways, this is a great opportunity for you. You will join the North Camden Community Team (NCCT) and it's well-established Child Psychotherapy Discipline known for the high quality child psychotherapy they offer to the diverse population of Camden, and it's long-standing tradition of Under Fives work with infants, children and their families.

You will join a large number of Child & Adolescent Psychotherapists in the Trust and help to support the Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists in Doctorate Training who are placed in NCCT. You will be supported by experienced Child & Adolescent Psychotherapists in NCCT and will have opportunities to develop and deliver innovative and evidence-based Child Psychotherapy in line with the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job

You will be part of the team's various duty rotas, and this will include responding to urgent queries and offering urgent assessments. The post holder will be supervised by a senior Child Psychotherapist and join a growing team discipline and large Trust wide psychotherapy group.

This post will provide you scope for you to offer supervision, consultation and training, alongside clinical work including outreach community work, generic CAMHS assessment and brief treatment, child psychotherapy assessment and treatment (including work with pre latency children and their families).

  • Degree level as a minimum plus developed specialist and practical knowledge equating to postgraduate degree/ Masters level
  • Registration with ACP as a Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist.

Experience

Essential

  • Evidence of clinical experience working with client population (0- 18s)
  • A clear track record of managing complexity and risk whilst maintaining high standards of service delivery.
  • Clinical experience of assessing mental health and wellbeing needs of clients
  • Experience of managing clinical complexity and high-risk patients.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the changing NHS and Social Care environment and the challenges they face
  • Experience of working at all levels of the system with internal and external stakeholders

  • Some experience of supervising junior colleagues.
