Job summary
This post is a great opportunity for a band 7 postholder wanting to develop their interest in trauma support. There will be opportunities to gain experience in managing and developing services by supporting our Psychology Lead in their development of a formal trauma pathway within the team. Alongside this the postholder will offer treatment across the range of mental health presentations we see in Camden CAMHS.
You will also need to be enthusiastic and committed to supporting local communities, and it is vital that you are a good team player. There is a strong ethos within the team of supporting each other and recognition of the challenges that this type of work throws up. Main duties of the job
This post is based across North and South Camden Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (OpenMinded). The postholder will promote the emotional wellbeing of children, young people and families within Camden, with a particular focus on trauma treatment. The postholder will contribute psychology input to the team, including: direct support for children and families; specialist supervision of other staff including clinical/counselling/educational psychology trainees; consultation and training for staff at a designated school; consultation, teaching and training for staff within health, education, social care and third sector organisations.
You will need experience of working with children, young people and families from a diverse range of inner-city communities in the area of mental health, from within either health, education or social care (statutory or third sector), and with working with trauma treatments. Whilst it is desirable for applicants to be qualified to provide EMDR treatment, for the right applicant we can provide training in the modality. The postholder will be able to access the well-established support and supervision available in the Trust for the network of clinicians providing EMDR.
