Job summary

To be responsible for providing comprehensive clinical psychology services within the MOSAIC service. This includes carrying out assessments and undertaking clinicalintervention, with individuals, families, carers, groups and other professionals.

The post holder will also provide consultation to Mosaic team members and external agencies inrelation to the work of the team.The post holder will be an active member of the department of Clinical Psychology and to provide teaching, training and supervision at post-graduate level.

Main duties of the job

1.To hold a caseload of direct work and consultative work.2.To work as a clinician within CAMHS to work with children, young people and their families and specifically with children and young people with disabilities, providing an advanced, highly specialist clinical psychology service.3.To provide specialist psychological assessments of children, young people and their families, using individual, parent and family interviews, formaldevelopmental, psychometric and other assessment methods as appropriate.4.To formulate and devise psychological treatment and management plans for children, young people and their families and to provide psychological treatment, using cognitive-behavioural, systemic, psychodynamic and solution focussed, and other specialist psychological interventions as appropriate to the presenting problems and consistent with the child's psychological development.5.To provide specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals within CAMHS and to other health, local authority and voluntary sector child professionals6.To assist in the formulation, diagnosis and treatment of clients.7.To provide reports and communication in a skilled and sensitive manner concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans of clients.

About us

The Psychology Discipline in the Child & Family Department includes full-time and part-time psychologists. There are also professional and academic tutors to the MSc in Educational Psychology, jointly appointed with LEA's. Some members of the discipline have a background in clinical psychology and some in educational psychology. The child psychologists make a major contribution to clinical to clinical work, training, consultancy and research in the department.

Essential

  • Post graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology as accredited by the British Psychological Society
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.

Desirable

  • Eligible for registration as a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with the British Psychological Society

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:

Essential

  • Experience of working with Children with Disabilities and their families.
  • Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course and presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity
  • Experience of working in a multi-professional team.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Essential

  • Doctoral level knowledge of research methodology, research design and data analysis as practiced within the clinical fields of psychology
