Job summary

Family Mental Health is quite a large team, providing generic CAMHS services, largely to Barnet and Haringey patients, but also to many other boroughs as allocated through the department's intake meeting. Referrals tend to be across the age range from infants to adolescents (older adolescents are also seen in the AYA). The team is multi-disciplinary and includes Clinical and Educational Psychologists, Child Psychotherapy, Child Psychiatry, Systemic Family Therapy, Social Work and Nursing. There is also a large body of trainees, including Clinical and Educational Psychology Trainees, Child Psychotherapy Trainees, and Students on one day attachments via MA courses like M34. The team has areas of expertise in complex social care cases, under 5s, CBT, EMDR, group work parenting and Systemic Family Therapy.

In addition to generic referrals, the team receives a number of referrals from Islington CAMHS for intensive psychotherapy, where they as a service are unable to provide it. The team has an outreach base in Bounds Green health Centre.
