Job summary

JOB TITLE: Associate Lecturer for (M7/M9) Working with children, young people & families: a psychoanalytic observational approach

GRADE: 8A

HOURS: 2 sessions/7.5 hours per week (potentially increasing to 3 sessions subject to student recruitment)

DURATION: Fixed term contract until July 31 2023

This post is located within the Psychoanalytic Applied Portfolio in the Division of Education and Training. The role includes teaching, tutoring, marking, participation in student recruitment and academic assessment as well as involvement in course review and development.

This is an ACP qualified child psychotherapy role and is primarily linked to the M7 courses: MA Working with children, young people & families: a psychoanalytic observational approach. M7 is a thriving post-graduate psychoanalytic applied course, extending students' understanding of early development and developing their application of psychoanalytically informed observational skills to their interactions at work. The Tavistock course offers different delivery models (in-person and blended delivery) and is also delivered in partnership with national and Italian centres. This Associate Lecturer post is Tavistock Centre based.

The postholder must be available on Wednesdays. Attending staff meetings, representing the course at open days and evenings and other events will involve some work on other days and evening and weekend work.
