Job summary
You will join Camden Mental Health Support Team (MHST), which is an early intervention service that provides support to children, families and schools through advice and sign posting, delivering brief evidence-based interventions as well as helping to develop and implement whole school approaches to mental health. The MHST is part of the Camden CAMHS which delivers high quality care to the local population of 0-18 years olds.
You will provide clinical supervision to School Practitioners (band 4-6) through individual and group supervision. The supervision will include clinical supervision and live supervision of assessments and direct work, clinical caseload management and supervision of individual therapy, group work and whole class interventions. For example, Guided Self-Help Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Parenting support for challenging behaviour and therapeutic play approaches.
Main duties of the job
Your role will include consultation, assessment, intervention, supervision as well as service development, evaluation and training.
You will be the senior MHST link to a patch of primary and secondary schools. Each school also has a linked MHST School Practitioner. You will take a lead role in developing relationships with the school community, supporting the Designated Mental Health Lead with their Whole School Approach as well as providing consultation, advice and sign posting.

Essential
- Appropriate qualification as either a Clinical/Counselling/Educational Psychologist (Doctoral level training and relevant UK Professional Registration (HCPC/BPS)
- Or as a Systemic Family Psychotherapist (MA/MSc qualification with full registration as a Systemic Psychotherapist with UKCP)
- Or Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with relevant UK Professional registration (e.g. BABCP)
- Or Appropriate qualification to be an existing CAMHS clinician at band 7 for example, clinical nurse specialist or mental health social worker. This must equate to a Master's degree in the relevant clinical area
Desirable
- Post-graduate qualification in a relevant field of mental health or social welfare and demonstrate significant practice.
