Job summary
The position is a 3 day role based at the Portman clinic. The days of work are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The role will involve community outreach into CAMHS, YOT, social care and third sector, thought Central North and East London.
The role is to support young people who are at risk of engaging in illegal behaviours to stay in the community safely and to divert them from custody where possible.
This role involved direct assessment work with young people and also mostly, consultation with professionals.

Qualifications /Training
Essential
- Eligibility for full membership of the Association of Child Psychotherapists or HCPC for Psychologists or other relevant membership board .
- Doctoral level qualification or equivalent in Psychoanalytic/ Psychotherapy/ Psychoanalysis OR Clinical/ Forensic Psychology OR other allied health field.
Desirable
- Qualification in other psychological therapy e.g. systemic work, mentalization based treatment, CBT Analytical training Previous Portman training .
Experience
Essential
- At least 4 years post qualification experience as a child and adolescent psychotherapist/psycho logy working in CAMHS or the public/third sector.
- Experience of working in forensic settings.
Desirable
- Planning and carrying out research.
- Experience of providing training/teaching to students/junior staff.

- Ability to lead and manage self and others in child and adolescent psychotherapy/psychologic al work.
