The post holder will join the North Camden Community CAMHS team, which is a fully staffed multidisciplinary CAMHS team to work with a varied caseloadof children, young people and families, participate in team meetings, and contribute to the CAMHS in schools part of the service by doing some work within school settings
Main duties of the job
If you are a dynamic psychologist with passion for community CAMHS and innovative ways of working, we have an excitingopportunity for you. You will join the North Camden Community Team (NCCT), one of the two Camden CAMHS Community Teams -
Open Minded, to promote the emotional wellbeing of children, young people and their families. We are part of a largeand vibrant child and family department at the Tavistock Centre.
You will join a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Clinical Psychologists, Family and Systemic Psychotherapists, Child & Adolescent Psychotherapists, Social Worker, Psychiatrists and many trainees studying at Tavistock Centre.

We have a varied caseload of clients ranging from those who require preventative intervention and to those presenting with a high level of risk and complexity. We work closely with the multi-agency network and offer CAMHS input in schools

You will join the experienced, supportive and highly skilled senior psychologists to strengthen and contribute to the psychology discipline which is developing in scope to meet the local needs.
You will offer assessment and treatment to support children, young people and families/carers. You will provide specialist supervision of staff including clinical/counselling/educational psychology trainees; consultation, teaching and training for staff within health, education, social care and third sector organisations.
You will be working in designated schools (for up to one day a week) to provide CAMHS input. Experience and skills in treating child and adolescent mental health issues using a CBT approach (including Third Wave interventions) are essential for this role.
There are other opportunities to pursue more specialist interests (including training and professional development) and contribute to service development, Quality Improvement, service user involvement, audit and research.

- Doctoral level training and qualification as either a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist
- Relevant UK Professional Registration (HCPC/BPS)
- Other post-graduate qualifications in: CBT, Systemic Foundation Years, EMDR, Mindfulness.
- Experience of working in relevant profession (Clinical/Counselling Psychologist) with children, young people, parents/carers, and families, including the ability to work autonomously.
- Experience of the application of CAMHS assessments and interventions within a multi-cultural framework
- Experience of work in a multi-professional network and awareness of issues for such networks and teams.
- Experience in engaging hard to reach populations in community CAMHS.
- Experience of treating child and adolescent mental health issues using CBT approach
- An ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to convey highly complex and clinically sensitive information to family members of all ages, students and to a wide range of professional people within and outside the NHS
- An awareness of relevant legislation and its implications for clinical practice
