Job summary
A vacancy for a permanent part time Associate Lecturer has arisen on our highly regarded Professional Doctorate in Child, Community & Educational Psychology [M4] course. This is an exciting role that will support the next generation of Educational Psychologists in their professional training, and we are seeking an experienced HCPC-registered Educational Psychologist (EP) to fill gaps arising from recent recruitment to the staff team. There is approximately a total of 15 hours per week available, and we are open to applications covering sessional time available.
Main duties of the job
The Associate Lecturer time available has a particular emphasis on supervision [both research and personal], marking and assessment as well as student recruitment and selection. We are keen to hear from practitioners with an established research and publication record, skills in supporting research at doctoral level and/or an interest in developing their scope of practice in this area. The post-holder may contribute to course teaching, including via asynchronous lectures, in-person and/or online workshops and seminars across the programme. The successful candidate[s] will work closely with the rest of the team in curriculum development when required, including ensuring inclusion, equity, disadvantage and discrimination are appropriately addressed and may take a lead in the planning of identified course activities. They will assist with initiatives in e.g., digital/blended delivery and digital innovation in pedagogy; support the updating of reading lists, course handbooks and other course materials; contribute to course resources and participate in or lead projects resulting in improvements to delivery.
Previous teaching/supervisory experience in higher education or in the public sector would be an asset; and contribution to and passion for initial Educational Psychology training is key to the role.
