If you are a dynamic and creative Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist who is looking to develop professionally, and who has a passion for working with children, young people and families in community CAMHS in innovative ways, this is a great opportunity for you. You will join the North Camden Community Team (NCCT), one of the two Camden CAMHS's Community Teams - Open Minded. We are a multi-disciplinary team staffed by highly experienced clinicians and part of a large and vibrant child and family department. We have a varied caseload of clients from diverse backgrounds, ranging from those presenting with a high level of complexity and risk to those who require preventative interventions. We work closely with the multi-agency networks and offer CAMHS input in schools. Camden CAMHS is one of the pilot sites for the Trailblazers' initiative, with new developments such as the clinical intake team, the 4-week-wait initiative and Mental Health Support Team offering support in schools. We strive to be an accessible, responsive and innovative service with patient care and patient experience at its heart.
Main duties of the job
This post will provide you scope for you to offer supervision, consultation and training, alongside clinical work including outreach community work, generic CAMHS assessment and brief treatment, child psychotherapy assessment and treatment (including work with pre latency children and their families). You will also have a pivotal role in supporting child psychotherapy trainees in the team. Camden CAMHS is a pilot site for Trailblazers' initiative and the post holder will contribute to the 4-week-waiting initiative and there will be ongoing development in building a brief assessment and treatment model. The post holder will make an active contribution to the child psychotherapy discipline.
You will be part of the team's various duty rotas, and this will include responding to urgent queries and offering urgent assessments, providing input to Camden CAMHS's clinical intake structure which offers signposting and information gathering. The post holder may have champion/strategic lead roles in areas as required, e.g. coordination of the schools programme in NCCT; service user involvement initiatives; Quality Improvement; research and audit; service evaluation; contributing to development of skills and knowledge of the team in areas such as NICE guidelines, evidence-based interventions; contributing to improve the team's overall performance and functioning; embedding outcome measures; demand and capacity planning and initiatives; waiting list management, etc.
