About the RoleAn exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the UK's largest and most diverse paediatric audiology networks as a Consultant in Audiovestibular Medicine at Barts Health NHS Trust.The successful candidate will join a high-performing, forward-looking multidisciplinary team delivering comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management for children with hearing and balance disorders across East London.This is an opportunity to help shape and lead one of the largest paediatric audiology services nationally, supporting over five boroughs and a highly diverse patient population. You'll work collaboratively with Audiology Team Leads, Teachers of the Deaf, ENT and Paediatric colleagues, contributing to pathway redesign, service innovation and the development of Barts Health's first Specialist Paediatric Vestibular Service.

Main duties of the job

About YouWe're seeking a passionate and skilled clinician who brings:o Full GMC registration and entry on (or within 6 months of) the Specialist Register in Audiovestibular Medicine.o Proven experience in paediatric audiovestibular care, with strong clinical, communication and leadership skills.o A commitment to teaching, audit, and continuous service improvement.o Enthusiasm to support the development of world-class services for children and families across East London.About Us

  • MB BS [or equivalent] MRCP or MRCS(ENT) or FRCS (ENT) or MRCPCH (NB: Non UK trained doctors must be on the GMC register and Specialist Register in relevant specialty by date of interview)
  • Full UK GMC Registration
  • On GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of attainment of CCT in Audiovestibular Medicine at date of interview

Desirable

  • MSc in Audiovestibular Medicine
  • PhD or MD or equivalent specialist training

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Experience in managing paediatric patients with hearing and balance disorders
  • Comprehensive and detailed knowledge of audio-vestibular disorders
  • Knowledge of evidence informed practice
  • Detailed knowledge and experience in area of Genetics of Hearing loss

Desirable

  • Demonstrates breadth of experience and awareness in and outside specialty
