Neonatal Transport Nurse

Job summary

If successful you would be welcomed into a friendly team consisting of 3 Neonatal Consultants, specialist registrars/clinical fellows, Matron: PDN and experienced transport nurses. These team members are complemented by technicians from St John Ambulance Service

You will commence with an induction programme and ride-out shifts with support. Shifts include rotation between dual and single clinician teams, days, nights and weekends. Full and part time options can be discussed.NTS also offers observation ride outs for you to come and try transport out first. We also have secondment opportunities available, within the PCCU, NICU and the wider Children's hospital.

You will be based at the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will lead by example as an expert specialist neonatal nurse on the Neonatal Transfer Team for London. To work as part of a team in facilitating neonatal transfers across London and the Southeast.

  • RSCN/RN
  • ENB 405 (or equivalent)/ Qualified in specialty HDU & ITU
  • ENB 998 (or equivalent)/ Mentorship.
  • NLS
  • Demonstrate a strong interest and motivation towards pursuing further education.
  • Proven and current full-time experience, delivering care to acute neonates, in a tertiary level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at a band 6 or above for at least the past three years.

Desirable

  • Diploma/Degree in related topic e.g. BSc Nursing
  • Attendance at accredited study days/courses.
  • Experience of reflective practice; clinical supervision.

Knowledge

  • Evidence of understanding the needs of culturally diverse families
  • Good understanding of clinical governance

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
