We're looking for an experienced and emotionally resilient Clinical Psychologist to join the multidisciplinary team in the Fetal Medicine Unit at the Royal London Hospital. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to a ground-breaking service that integrates specialist psychological care into the management of complex fetal diagnoses and high-risk pregnancies.
We're seeking a HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with:
Experience in working with trauma, grief, or complex medical conditions.Strong assessment, formulation, and therapy skills for both individuals and families.Confidence working within multidisciplinary teams.A commitment to compassionate, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed practice.Experience in perinatal or reproductive health, and training in approaches such as EMDR, CFT, or trauma-focused CBT, would be beneficial. Bengali language skills are highly desirable given our local community, but not essential.
You'll be part of one of the UK's most innovative maternity services at Barts Health NHS Trust, working in a forward-thinking team at a major tertiary referral centre for fetal medicine. This is a unique opportunity to influence how psychological care is delivered to families during a vulnerable time and to promote holistic, family-centred care across the pathway.
Main duties of the job
Provide specialist psychological assessments and interventions to women, birthing people, and their families facing distressing fetal diagnoses, loss, or difficult pregnancy decisions.
Work closely with obstetricians, midwives, fetal medicine specialists, and neonatal colleagues to embed psychologically-informed care throughout the service.
Contribute to staff wellbeing by offering reflective practice, consultation, and psychological support in this emotionally demanding clinical environment.
Play a key role in shaping and developing this evolving service, including involvement in care pathway design, training, and outcome evaluation.
