Job summary

CT Research Radiographer

Participate in CT research developments within the trust, including clinical trials, primary research imaging studies, and clinical physics research projects.

Perform a wide range of research CT examinations across all body areas as required.

Clinical responsibilities for CT research examinations (including cannulation, drug administration, image reviews, referral to radiologists and all related tasks.

Research operational management: booking scans, tracking logs, governance, compliance, correspondence with trial teams and sponsors, image transfers, and any other research-related tasks.

Management and leadership. Conduct appraisals, line-manage B6 radiographers and research coordinators, and advocate for research in the Trust.

Information governance and management. Accurately record data, use of PACS, EDGE, be familiar with ICT systems.

Education and Professional Development: highest professional and technical standards, GCP compliant, attend research training/workshops/courses. CT professional development courses.

Operational delivery: safe manual handling of patients, liaising closely with research coordinators, Sponsors and teams, negotiations and all CT-related research tasks.

Main duties of the job

Become an essential part of the research CT delivery service within the Trust, performing a wide range of research CT examinations according to research protocols, and supporting and evaluating research workload. Deliver patient-centred care and act as a primary contact for research CT queries.

  • BSc in Diagnostic Imaging or equivalent
  • HPC registration

Desirable

  • Postgraduate qualifications

Experience

Essential

  • Fulfilled a varied role as a radiographer in the Band 6/7 position with evidence of some role extension in CT scanning
  • Evidence of CPD, including attendance at relevant short course & study days.

  • Research radiographer experience
  • GCP Compliance

Knowledge

  • Clinical Governance and H&S
  • National regulations and MHRA safety guidelines

  • MHRA GCP prinicples
