This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career within a supportive and innovative NHS Trust.About the RoleAs the Band 6 Sleep Physiologist, you will play a pivotal role in leading and facilitating our comprehensive sleep service within the respiratory department. You will work closely with our Lead Physiologist, Dr. John Barry, and the Clinical Lead for Sleep Medicine, Dr. Nadia Gildeh. You will also manage a team of three junior physiologists, overseeing clinical operations while maintaining your own caseload of sleep clinics, CPAP management, sleep reporting, and triage sessions.

  • Either: Degree in a Biological subject and ARTP Part 1 and Part 2 or equivalent qualification. Or: HTEC in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement. Relevant experience as a Band 5 in Lung Function.

Experience

Essential

  • Understanding and experience in running CPAP clinics.

Desirable

  • Experience of teaching small groups using various presentation media

Knowledge

Essential

  • Knowledge /experience of basic sleep physiology and monitoring techniques (oximetry, respiratory studies and CPAP therapy).

Skills

Essential

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Access.
  • To be well-organised and able to prioritise own workload and that of others.

Desirable

  • Evidence of having managed a laboratory.
  • Evidence of implementing innovation or having had responsibility for part of service delivery.
  • Have knowledge /experience of advanced sleep physiology and monitoring techniques.
  • Previous experience of Hospital software.
