Trainee Clinical Nurse Specialist - Fixed term secondmentAn exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Pain Management Service at Barts Health. You will work in conjunction with the lead clinical nurse specialist, clinical nurse specialists & anaesthetic consultants, to deliver inpatient & outpatient pain services primarily at St Bartholomew's Hospital. There may be opportunities to gainexperience at The Royal London Hospital, or other sites within the Trust.

The post is a secondment until August 2026.The postholder will develop their specialist pain management knowledge and skills and participate in provision of specialist pain management to selected patients referred to the pain management service. They will work under the supervision of the lead pain nurse, pain consultants, and clinical nurse specialists in the pain management service.The postholder must be able to demonstrate leadership & motivational skills & be able to work in an extended, multi-disciplinary team. Flexibility with working hours is necessary to meet the role and the service demands.

You will possess:Excellent interpersonal skills & be able to support the delivery of acute and chronic pain management throughout the hospital setting.A good level of understanding, clinical knowledge, & skills related to pain management.An understanding of dealing with patients who require acute & or chronic pain management in a medical or surgical environment.Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Main duties of the job

Candidates for this post must be a registered nurse with significant experience at either band 5 or band 6 level. You'll be educated to diploma or degree level and have post registration experience in an acute setting, dealing with patients who are experiencing pain post-surgery or trauma with some experience in acute pain management
