Sonographer: Cross site rotation covering The Royal London Hospital, St Bartholomew's,and Mile End Hospital.Restrictions: Fixed term contract Maternity Leave cover (1st October 2025 - 31st October2026.

Salary - Band 7 inc. HCAS and £5,000 short term RRP (pro-rata) which is reviewed annually.

Contract: AFC Band 7 (Full-time 37.5hrs per week, 09:00-17:00hrs 5 days a week/Compressed 08:00-18:00hr per week)Location: Based at the RLH with cross site rotation to St Bartholomew's and Mile End Hospital.An exciting opportunity for highly motivated and adaptive Sonographers to join our friendlyand well-supported ultrasound team for a fixed term contract covering Maternity leave fromthe 1st of October 2025 to 31st of October 2026.

This post is based at the Royal LondonHospital with cross site rotation to St Bartholomew's and Mile end hospitals.We welcome applications from Sonographers with multiple skillsets with experience toscan General, Gynaecology and Obstetrics ultrasound. All successful candidates will besupported by a preceptorship program based on their level of experience and skills.

Candidates must hold either a Pg Cert / Dip / MSc or DMU qualification in MedicalUltrasound and professional registration with a statutory regulated body (such as theHCPC) or the Register for Clinical Technologists.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will work as a part of a multi-disciplinary team in Imaging, liaising with those involved to ensure that appropriate imaging, reporting and management of the patient is provided when and where necessary. They will maintain a high professional and technical standard of ultrasound imaging with cross site rotation covering The Royal London Hospital,St Bartholomew's Hospital and Mile End Hospital.Our Sonographers undertake clinical work within established quality standards of practice, adhering to Ultrasound guidelines such as those published by BMUS, RCOG, RCR and NICE. The post-holder will work within departmental protocols as a practitioner in the delivery of all ultrasound imaging, reporting and management of the patient.The post-holder will also liaise with key Lead Nurses, Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in the Women's Health Division, as well as the Radiologists in the General Ultrasound Department.In the absence of a Lead Sonographer, the post-holder will oversee the day-to-day workloadto ensure staff and resources are allocated to the area and managed effectively.

Desirable

  • To hold a BSc Hons degree or DCR in Diagnostic Radiography.
  • PgCert MSK non injection ultrasound
  • MSc in Medical Ultrasound.
  • DQASS Nuchal Translucency certification.

  • An up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging ultrasound techniques and relevant topics / professional issues.
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to carry out and report on a full range of ultrasound examinations in Obstetrics, Gynaecology, General Abdominal and Small Parts
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.

  • Training in vascular ultrasound.
