Job summary

The Pharmacy Department at Bart's Health covers a population of 2.5 million. We provide clinicalpharmacy, medicines management and medicines optimisation services from our four hospital sitesacross the City of London and East London.

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated and ambitious Senior Pharmacy Assistant to join our dynamic Team. The post holder must be keen to learn and develop with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

You will be joining a diverse and professional team, who take pride in providing a high quality and efficient medicines supply service to the Trust, to ensure that patients receive the best care. You will be involved in many different aspects of supplying medicines.

As part of this role, you will be providing dispensing services, and helping to facilitate a streamlined workflow ensuring key performance targets are met. You will be required to hold the NVQ Level 2 and relevant units in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent qualification) and meet the satisfactory practice-based levels of competency for this role.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will assist in the supply and management of prescribed items in the dispensary and on wards, receive and put away stock including dispensary consumables, carry out a pharmacy top-up service to the wards. They will liaise with senior members of dispensary and clinical teams to manage stock appropriately and ensure that short dated stock within the dispensary is moved across sites to high usage areas, when necessary.
