Job summary

Applications are invited an ENT Consultant with an interest in Otology and Skull Base Disease to join a team of consultants in the Ear, Nose and Throat department at the Royal London Hospital.

Main duties of the job

Consultants are responsible for the supervision of the work of their junior staff, who act on the delegated authority of the consultant. It is the consultants' responsibility to ensure that junior staff receive appropriate induction to the department and its work on taking up post, that training objectives are set and monitored, and that regular feedback on performance is provided including engagement in the online ISCP assessments. The appointee may, from time to time, be asked to assume the role of educational supervisor for one or more trainees and be responsible for their appraisal.

  • FRCS (ORL-HNS) or equivalent

Desirable

  • Higher degree - BSc MS MD PhD

Registration

Essential

  • Registered on GMC specialist register or within 3 months of obtaining it at the time of interview

  • IT Skills and computer literacy
