Trust Doctor (Equv to ST4+) in Renal Medicine and Transplantation

Barts Health NHS Trust

The closing date is 13 May 2025

Job summary

Applications are invited for a Trust Doctor (registrar level) in Renal Medicine and Transplantation.

The post will suit applicants who wish to gain further experience in Renal Medicine, perhaps with a view to preparing for application for a training post.

In this position the appointee will be exposed to all aspects of renal medicine, including renal replacement therapy (haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, renal transplantation), acute kidney injury and various sub-specialities within the field of nephrology. There is extensive teaching and training built in to the rota as well as ample opportunities in audit and research, as well as in the practical procedures of nephrology.

Main duties of the job

During your time in the unit we would aim to provide you with a broad experience in the basics of nephrology and the opportunity to develop this further if you wish. This will be through your routine work on the wards and on-call, formal teaching, regular attendance at the unit academic meetings, and participation in journal club, as well as through opportunity to attend specialist clinics.

Renal medicine is a demanding specialty and our patients are often complex and sick. The wards and the on calls are busy but we have a strong team ethos and work together to achieve the best for our patients. We ensure you are well supported at all times and that clinical and educational supervision is of a high standard.
