The Radiopharmacy Department at Barts Health is entering an innovative and expansive phase, offering significant opportunities for leadership and growth. As part of the Imaging department, the Radiopharmacy team thrives in a collaborative, dynamic environment, where staff from a variety of fields including scientists, pharmacy technicians, imaging technologists, physicists, and clinicians, work closely together.
As an MHRA Manufacturer's Specials Licensed Radiopharmacy with an MIA(IMA) License, we supply critical radiopharmaceuticals to Nuclear Medicine & Imaging departments across the Trust and to other hospitals. Our service spans a wide range of activities, including aseptic preparation of radiopharmaceuticals, blood cell radioisotope labelling for diagnostic imaging, batch manufacturing, clinical trials, and comprehensive quality control laboratory services.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for leading the operational delivery,performance, and governance of the Radiopharmacy Unit (RPU) at StBartholomew's Hospital. They will provide strong clinical and managerial leadership to both internal and wider teams.The role aims to promote the responsible, safe, and cost-effective provision of radiopharmacy services while ensuring full compliance with key regulatory requirements. The post holder will lead a team of production staff in delivering high-quality production services to both internal and external stakeholders across the Trust and beyond.Additionally, the post holder will collaborate with the clinical nuclearmedicine team, support the setup of clinical trials, and liaise closely with the wider Pharmacy Technical Services departments.The post holder will also work closely with the Head of Radiopharmacy on the strategic development of services, ensuring compliance with regulatory priorities set by the MHRA, ONR, Environmental Agency, and other relevant bodies, to uphold best practices.
