Critical Care Outreach Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner - Band 7

(Band 8a attained upon completion of the Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice)

The Critical Care Outreach Team at The Royal London Hospital are currently recruiting for an experienced highly motivated CCOT practitioner who is already on an Advanced Clinical Practitioner pathway or has completed modules to contribute to the MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice.

The Royal London Hospital is a Level 1 Major Trauma Centre and a tertiary referral centre for Hyper-Acute Stroke, Renal Medicine and Neurosurgery.

The successful candidate must possess evidence of extensive experience in critical care outreach with current experience in managing level 2 and 3 patients independently, either within a critical care environment or acute ward setting with transferable skills.

Preference will be given at shortlisting to candidates already on the ACP pathway, or who have nearly completed the MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice and ideally the successful candidate will be an independent prescriber.

The successful candidate will be passionate and proactive about developing both self and others; with proven and demonstrable clinical expertise, problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously or work as an integral member of the wider multidisciplinary healthcare team, directing evidence-based care to patients.

Main duties of the job

To provide the highest standard of expertise as a Non Medical Practitioner for acutely ill and deteriorating patients in Level 0 areas. To lead by example and champion evidence based care.

In addition to the clinical remit the post holder will be involved with delivering training relating to the deteriorating patient, auditing practice and patient outcomes and contributing to research to improve patient care and service delivery.
