Job summary

We are looking for a motivated and dynamic pharmacist with clinical and management experience to join the Specialist Medicine team at Whipps Cross and the Royal London Hospital.

You will work closely with the pharmacy team, homecare team and the wider Specialist Medicine (Gastroenterology, Dermatology and Rheumatology) multidisciplinary team to support Whipps Cross and the Royal London Pharmacy department.

You will be responsible for the Clinical Pharmacy and Medicines Management services within Gastroenterology, Dermatology and Rheumatology at Barts Health NHS Trust.

Main duties of the job

To support the Lead Specialist Medicine Pharmacist in providing responsible, safe and cost-effective prescribing within the networks to:

- optimise patient outcomes- minimise adverse reactions- improve medicines safety

The postholder will have specialist cross site responsibility for these pharmacy services. This includes the Whipps Cross, Mile End and Royal London hospital day case units.

The post holder will also help to deliver the broader Medicines Optimisation and Governance Strategy across the Trust. These outcomes will be achieved primarily through leadership of clinical staff, and the publication and implementation of guidelines and procedures to encourage best practice.
