The Pharmacy Department at Barts Health is one of the largest in the country and covers a population of 2.5 million. We provide clinical pharmacy and medicines optimisation services from our five hospital sites across the City of London, East and North East London.
Due to the promotion of the current postholder, we have a rare and fantastic opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic, and forward-thinking pharmacist to join Barts Health NHS Trust as a Consultant Pharmacist for Medication Safety and Medicines Governance Lead.
In this pivotal role, you will be the named Medication Safety Officer (MSO) for the Trust. You will be responsible for overseeing and improving Medication Safety, Governance, and Medicines Information services. You will also play a key role in developing and delivering strategic plans aligned with both local and national priorities.
Main duties of the job
As a trusted expert, you will support and provide specialist advice to the Group Chief Pharmacist, Group Chief Medical Officer, Group Chief Nursing Officer, Hospital Medical Directors, Director of Nursing, and other key stakeholders. You will also lead a well-established, progressive Medication Safety, Information, and Governance team, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and quality.
